Images are the lifeblood of so many websites, social platforms and communications, but did you know that something as simple as saving an image in the wrong file type can have a dramatic impact on your sales?

There are 3 main image types which are currently suported by web browsers and these are:

  • jpg/jpeg
  • gif
  • PNG

Using the wrong one can result in images which are lower in quality than they could be and that take longer to download for your website users. Both of these factors contribute to lower conversion rates and also a worse user experience, afterall would you buy from a website which takes ages to load with poor images?

To help you figure out which image file type you should use I've created another short digital marketing video which covers the basics of when to use each file type.

You can find all of our videos on our YouTube Channel (don't forget to like & subscribe) and they will also be posted to the website on a regular basis. We've kept them short to make them digestible and covered just the essentials you need to get going, we want you to get the most of out the platform rather than bamboozling you with detail.
