It feels like fine minutes since the opening round of the 2018 SG Petch Sprint Championship at Teesside Autodrome and an elating win in the second race of the day. Looking back on that race it's given me the confidence that I can push hard and race with the best drivers in the field for race podiums and wins, something which I'll be trying to carry forwards into this race weekend.

Raceday Weather

With Round 1 featuring a mixed bag on the weather front, the weather for round 2 looks decidedly more calm, though it's only Wednesday as I write this adn we all know things can change, especially when there is rain forecast on the Saturday and Monday!

I'll be watching the forecast closely as Sunday approaches, while the rain always spices the racing up a little with a mixed grid, it can also lead to a race weekend thrown away at the hands of other drivers pushing too hard in changing conditions.

Training Update

The start of the year saw training step up once again after the winter break, though this hasn't gone quite according to plan. During my first runs of the year I have more than likely injured my left knee as a result of running too hard too soon, with every run now resulting in knee pain for 24 hours afterwards.

On the advice of friends who are serious runners I have rested and exercised my knee to try and strengthen it, my intention is to try and get another run in before the weekend though as I write this it's raining heavily outside.
